High-Voltage and RF Systems for Fusion & Plasma Heating
Ampegon designs and supplies high-voltage power systems and RF amplifiers for fusion research and plasma heating applications. Our power electronic systems are deployed in environments where performance stability, protection, and long-term reliability are essential for continuous operation and predictable system behavior. Projects span from system design through commissioning and lifecycle service.
Applications include Electron Cyclotron Resonance Heating (ECRH) using high-power gyrotron systems, Ion Cyclotron Resonance Heating (ICRH), and Neutral Beam Injection (NBI).
Proven Experience
Ampegon has supported fusion and plasma heating programs since the early 1980s. Our systems are installed at major international research facilities, including:
- Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP), Garching and Wendelstein 7-X
- General Atomics (DIII-D)
- European and US fusion research laboratories
- Advanced plasma heating installations worldwide
